A free comprehensive webinar for sophomores, juniors, and their families about timelines, developing a best-fit college list, the admissions process, and financial aid. This is a great first step in the college application process!

College Application Tutoring

Assisting students with application-related requirements, including task management, activity lists, personal statements, and supplementary essays. Students work with a college application tutor to craft compelling application essays, maintain momentum, monitor deadlines, request transcripts, and meet admission requirements. Does NOT include list development. 

College Application Workshops

Small group workshops dedicated to supporting students in their college essay and application process. Students review all components of the application process including personal statements, supplemental essays, activity lists, and recommendations. (Included in College List & Year-Round Application Support program)

  •  Original College Application Workshop: Students meet one-on-one daily with instructors and receive feedback on their writing in between sessions. Students in the Original College Workshop meet for three hours per day, Monday through Friday, and receive written feedback throughout the week.

  • Independent College Application Workshop: If you are a student who prefers to take the wheel when it comes to your work, this is the workshop for you! Students in the Independent College Workshop attend the first portion of the Original College Workshop each day (approximately one hour per day, Monday through Friday. The remainder of their work is completed independently. Rather than meeting with the instructors during the workshop, this package includes two hours of one-on-one follow-up time with a college application tutor which is scheduled separately.

This year-long program includes the introductory webinar, Demystifying the College Application Process; personally tailored list development; online summer College Workshop (Original or Independent), one-on-one support, and important information and resources sent when you most need them.

  • Essay Writing: We advise students through crafting compelling personal statements and supplemental essays. This includes brainstorming ideas, structuring essays effectively, and ensuring that the writing reflects the students’ unique voice and experiences.

  • Brainstorming Ideas: Tutors help students brainstorm and choose compelling topics that highlight their strengths and unique experiences.

  • Drafting and Editing: Tutors provide feedback on drafts, help with structuring essays, and ensure the content is clear, concise, and impactful.

  • Activities List Writing/Resume Writing: We assist students in creating effective activities lists/resumes that highlight their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, internships, and relevant skills, as well as showcasing what they will bring to a college campus or job site.

Application Forms:

  • Filling Out Applications: Tutors guide students through the process of completing application forms accurately and thoroughly.

  • Recommendations: Tutors advise on how to request strong letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or other mentors.

Interview Preparation :

  • Interviewing Skills:  We guide students through highlighting their strengths and presenting themselves in a way that showcases their unique story, as well as how to ask questions that allow them to get the information that they need to know.

  • Mock Interviews: Tutors can conduct mock interviews to help students practice answering common questions and develop confidence in presenting themselves.

Academic Preparation:

  • Coursework Support: Tutors assist with understanding challenging subjects, improving grades, and maintaining a strong GPA, which is crucial for college applications.
